A team of engineers from the Australian National University says the development of a new generation of ultra-fast optical quantum networks, which should be a major next-generation computer networks, serving the needs of fast computers of the future.

Seiji Armstrong, Department of Quantum Science graduate student, said that they were able to develop a radically new technology that can transmit quantum information from a much wider bandwidth, using a phenomenon known in physics as the quantum alignment. 

"To put it simply, leveling rays - is the creation of conditions in which two quantum photon will be fully equal to each other and simultaneously changed by the influence of various factors, even if these photons are separated by thousands of miles. Due to this, we can transfer the data over a wide range, making it instantly. Remotely it can be compared with teleportation of quantum information ", - says Armstrong. 

first time, this quantum phenomenon was discovered by Albert Einstein in 1935, but the first practical attempt to use it only began in the late 1980s. Australian scientists say the problem with the transfer of quantum information still rested against the complexity of quantum systems, then as now developed a system of easily transmitted.

In the future, such data are yet to be optimized for the understanding of computers. Data on the development have been published in the latest issue of the scientific publication Nature Communications.
