Microsoft calls Windows Server 2012 as THE CORNERSTONE OF THE CLOUD OS.
Server 2012 upgrades the definition of server OS with lots of new features like Virtualization, storage, networking and etc.,.

Microsoft says"Its not just the great advanced we've made in storage, networking and virtualization. Whats most transformational is the change of identity. in past we always viewed windows server as an OS for single server"
The IIS i.e Internet Information Server 8 is available with new features like
CPU throtting
SSL scalability
FTP Brute Force protection
Dynamic IP restrictions
Web sockets
Application initialization module.
